A chuva - The rain (Crônica da Chuva)

The rain

The rain wets all thoughts and lays it on the ground. At the
Ground, the thoughts roll; curl up in the tangle of the life’s
Things and make themselves understandable. The rain wets
All the smiles under the heaven and lay it into its cold lap
And there, leave it wet, heavy-hearted and unwilling to
Face the walk against the time. The wind blows cold, and
Cool the lips behind which hide the smiles that the rain did
Not soaked. When the rain stops, everything gets up,
Including the distorted thoughts which got lost in empty
Minds.

The sun takes advantage of the lack of rain and
Surreptitiously, look among the clouds, fearing to be
Surprised by it. The rain fall and wet the thoughts, not yet
Thought, robbing their color, making them fearful, sad.
The rain soaks everything under the sky, including the
Thoughts that refuse to be thought, which after the rain has
Passed, they return to their origin desiring to be rethought.
The rain wets and lies to the ground thoughts that never
Comes out to the light, they are thoughts that, if wet, do
Not express themselves, it stay stored, hidden as all that
The water takes to under the ground and leaves them there
Until the sun burn them, giving to them his death sentence.

The rain soaks everything; the rain soaks even the secret
Things even things hidden in our thoughts. The rain wets
What is left exposed in the time and to the wind. The rain
Water the ideas and ideals, if it is there. The rain wets my
Thoughts when my thoughts seek shelter in your thoughts
Trying to understand the way you interpret me. The rain
Water, pour everything to the ground and leave them there
Until it get mix to the soaked clay and becomes difficult
To walk over it. The rain wets the uncovered thoughts and
Lay them to the ground and there drown them and
Peacefully watch them die.

O “daqui a pouco”.
