O vento sopra uma prece. - The wind carries a prayer.

O vento sopra uma prece.
A chuva diz amem.
É a vida!
chuvas, tal qual as plantas, germino e volto  à
luz.
Renasço, cumpro, assim, a promessa da vida
eterna.

Para os vivos, enquanto vivo, sou presente.
Para os mortos, enquanto vivo, sou futuro.
Morto, os mortos tratam-me no presente,
enquanto os vivos referem-se a mim como
passado.
Ressuscitarei.

O vento sopra uma prece!
A chuva diz amem.

The wind carries a prayer.

The wind whispers a prayer.
The rain says “Amen.”
The sun, grateful, rises for a new day.
On the ground, worn away by time, everything turns to dust.
That is life!
It is my body, weighed down by age,
my skin withers; scorched by the sun, it
wrinkles, sags, and falls.
Everything in me falls, casting my body to the ground
where everything turns to dust.
It is I, a seed, who at the end of the first
rains, just like the plants, sprout and return  to
the light.
I am reborn, thus fulfilling the promise of
eternal life.

To the living, while I live, I am the present.
To the dead, while I live, I am the future.
Dead, the dead treat me as the present,
while the living refer to me as
the past.
Utopias, inconsistencies, doubts, and uncertainties.
That is what life is.
Life eludes the understanding of the living,
who from the beginning refuse to accept it
as it is: a mystery.
When I die, just like a seed, I will rest
beneath the earth until the next rain wets
my body and causes it to sprout.
Then, I will be a new life.
I will rise again.

The wind blows a prayer!
The rain says “Amen.”
The sun, shining with gratitude, rises for a
new day.
When dry, the fruit dies, letting go of everything that
binds it to life, and falls.
As it falls, the fruit lays its seed beneath the
soil, and this seed, at the end of the first rains,
will sprout.
Then the wind whispers a prayer, the rain
weeps a prayer.
The sun, silent, sets, awaiting a new
day—the tomorrow it was promised to bring.
