A luz - The Light

tampouco significa eu estar a me despedir da vida.

a minha vida escurece.

batidas do meu coração.

vida.

eterno acender e apagar enquanto vigia a vida
que não para em nenhum lugar.

The Light

The truth is that my eyes only see what I choose
to see!

Just because I’m walking down a dark road doesn’t
mean I’m in darkness.

Of course!
There’s a difference between me being alone and
me being lonely, between me not being loved and
me not loving.

The light going out in my day doesn’t mean that
my night will be eternal.

Me turning off the light isn’t synonymous with
suicide, nor does it mean I’m saying goodbye to
life.

The fact that I, here and there, feel anger doesn’t
meanthat I’m resentful.

Besides, the anger I feel from time to time
hasn’t made me its permanent home.

When I let the light that illuminates me shine,
I don’t just illuminate my own spirit.

Even though my light is closest to
my heart, with it I illuminate lives.

The reality is that I only see what I allow
my eyes to see; consequently, I only experience
what I allow myself to experience.

If, at times, I ask you to be quiet, it doesn’t
mean that I don’t want to hear you.

When I ask you to listen to me, I don’t mean
to be the only one heard; I assure you that your
turn to speak is safe.

I don’t always cry out of sadness,
just as I don’t always laugh
because I’m happy.

I only see what I allow myself to see, and I only
live what I allow myself to live.

Not every time the light goes out for me does
my life grow dark.

Often, almost constantly, the sun
shines in the middle of my night, and when the
sun shines in the middle of my night, its light
dances in the darkness of my eyes, dancing to
the rhythm of my heartbeat.

I see only what I allow my eyes to see.

From the glass I drink the drips that drip into my
life; on the plate I eat what is served to me by
life.

The light that illuminates my life feeds on
everything around it—hence it flickers in an
eternal on-and-off cycle while watching over life,
which never stops anywhere.
