A rua me chama, me convida para sair, então eu saio.
caminhada e acha graça ao perceber eu tentando me proteger
do seu calor.
Abrasada pelo sol a rua me traga, me absorve e me faz chegar
Me encontro no meio da rua sob o calor inclemente do sol,
o suor jorrar do meu corpo, enquanto lhe peço um copo
d’água.
Bebo!
entardecer não me refresca, e durante a noite me entrega ao
frio.
fim.
A rua me chama, me convida a caminha-la e eu vou, vou
devanear, divagar, vou sonhar.

The street
The street calls to me, invites me to go out, so I go out.
I go out, walking until exhaustion comes to meet me and mocks
my weakness.
The sun, hidden in its own shadow, watches me, observes my
walk, and finds it amusing to see me trying to protect myself
from its heat.
Scorched by the sun, the street draws me in, absorbs me, and
leads me to its very heart, where I lose myself.
Lost, I look back and realize I’ve gone too far, so
I give up on the idea of turning back.
At noon, the shadow goes out for lunch and the lazy wind
stops blowing, and the breeze alone cannot quell the
raging heat that is suffocating me.
I find myself in the middle of the street under the merciless heat
of the sun, sweat pouring from my body, as I ask you for a glass
of water.
I drink!
I drink the salty sweat that trickles between my
parched lips—I drink!
I drink from my wet lips without realizing I’m being
swallowed up by the distance that seems to have no end.
I keep going!
I keep walking down the street that’s said to be mine; I remain in
the middle of the street that offers me no protection from the sun
during the day, that doesn’t cool me at dusk, and that leaves me
exposed to the cold at night.
I walk down a street that won’t let me escape its
embrace; I live a past that refuses to pass,
I experience days that seem to have no end—something left
without saying goodbye to me.
The moon rises in the sky, appearing shy on a night with few
stars, a harbinger of rain—it’s going to rain on my street.
I’m in the middle of the street, walking down the street—a street
that isn’t part of me—walking through things I’ve lived through,
an endless past.
The street calls to me, invites me to walk along it, and I go; I go
to daydream, to wander, to dream.
